Kenapakah Minyak Kandungan Minyak Enjin yang Betul Penting?

Kita sedia maklum bahawa semua enjin memerlukan minyak pelinciran, atau lebih dikenali sebagai minyak enjin dan minyak hitam.
Tetapi kandungan minyak itu wajib pada jumlah yang betul: Tidak terlalu kurang (atau dibiarkan berkurangan) mahupun tidak terlalu banyak. Marilah kita selidik kenapa begitu. Gambar di atas menunjukkan kandung minyak yang betul, iaitu di antara F (FULL) dan L (LOW).
Apa jadi jika minyak kurang?
Minyak enjin yang berkurangan akan menyebabkan tekanan minyak yang rendah di dalam sistem peliciran. Ia juga berkemungkinan menyebabkan aliran minyak yang tidak lancar khususnya kerana pam minyak tidak dapat menyedut minyak apabila minyak di dalam takung minyak bergerak apabila kita membrek atau memecut dengan kuat.
Apabila ini berlaku, bahagian-bahagian yang bergerak di dalam enjin seperti piston, aci engkol, injap dan tren injap, gear di dalam kotak gear dan klac akan bergesel dengan kuat. Geseran ini akan menghasilkan haba yang amat tinggi yang merosakkan enjin dan kotak gear.
Apa jadi jika minyak terlalu banyak?
Paras minyak yang terlalu tinggi di dalam takungan akan dipukul-pukul oleh aci engkol. Aksi ini akan menghasilkan buih yang banyak. Ia seperti kita memukul minyak untuk membuat telur dadar.
Apabila pam minyak menyedut dan mengalirkan buih-buih ini ke bahagian enjin, bahagian-bahagian tersebut akan kehilangan minyak pelinciran dengan serta-merta dan berlakulah geseran. Dalam erti lain, "Kejap ada minyak, kejap tak ada minyak."
Sebenarnya, minyak terlalu banyak lebih teruk daripada minyak yang kurang (tetapi bukan kering sepenuhnya).
Apa yang patut buat?
Isilah minyak enjin seperti yang disarankan oleh pembuat motosikal anda. Contohnya untuk Yamaha Y15ZR, mereka sarankan 950ml tanpa menukar penapis minyak, jadi kita isilah 950ml jika kita tidak tukar penapis minyak.
Selain daripada itu, kita mestilah memeriksa kandungan minyak dengan lebih kerap, apa lagi jika motosikal kita sudah lebih daripada 5 tahun. Tambah minyak secara beransur-ansur dan periksa paras minyak (kita akan tunjukkan caranya kelak).
