An internal combustion engine needs to combust fuel and air to produce power, by converting energies by performing four functions – intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. Those four functions require four distinct strokes (up and down movements of the piston), hence the name “four-stroke” engine.

The engine is the heart of the motorcycle; it is a fact no one could disagree with. But there were engines and then there were iconic engines.
