Recently, a Tik Tokker posted some "basics about engine oils." While he correctly identified that the letter "W" does not apply to Malaysian weather, he erroneously called it the oil's "boiling point."

These letters, such as API SN and so forth denote the oil's service grade. It does NOT denote the quality of the oil.

Another important label on oil bottles is the JASO marking. This marking is essential as it signifies the suitability of which oil can be used for motorcycles with wet clutches or scooters.
